SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS AT THE GWCC

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is committed to operating efficiently and leading the way in producing net-zero events. In fact, the GWCC is one of the largest convention centers to achieve and re-certify LEED Gold. Sustainability efforts include:

COMPOSTING

To reduce landfill material, GWCC kitchen waste is composted and used to support local and urban farms.

DONATION PROGRAM

A variety of materials, from furniture to supplies, textiles and tools, are donated to local partners.

ENERGY SAVINGS

The GWCCA’s Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contract with Trane is the largest in the country for public assembly venues.

FOOD RESCUE

This past fiscal year, the GWCC donated more than 900 pounds of excess food to Second Helpings.
